A technical data sheet is a comparison document, not a guarantee that every printed part will reach the same values. Read the revision, test method and conditions before comparing two materials.
Start with the document scope
Check the material grade, document revision and test standard. A tensile value obtained from a moulded specimen is not directly interchangeable with a value from a printed specimen, and different print orientations can produce different results.
Diameter, moisture and storage
Use the nominal diameter and tolerance together, then measure several points on a spool with a suitable micrometer. Follow the current drying and storage guidance for the specific grade. A dry spool at packing does not remove the need to protect it from moisture during storage.
Mechanical and thermal data
Treat tensile strength, elongation, impact and heat-deflection figures as screening data. Compare values only when the test method and specimen preparation are comparable, and validate the final part with a prototype under the intended load and temperature.
Current technical documents and request forms are available in our TDS library. For a material recommendation, include the application, load and environment in your quote request.
